Edisi Voli : Volley Drill

Volleyball drills can be broken down into 3 categories :

  • Skill and Movement Specific
  • Tactical, Systematic, Strategic
  • Volleyball Conditioning Specific
Before do some drills, make sure you have enough warm up to start the training. Try to make volleyball drill curriculum for myself just for fun🙂

1. Power & physical drill

  • Run some laps
  • Push-ups
  • etc
2. Agility, Quickness Drill
  • Zig-zag run
  • Flip-flop line
  • Catch Ball
  • etc
3. (forearm/low) Passing drill
  • get the ball drill. A player chase where the ball go and catch it in forearm pass form
  • static pass drill. A player can’t move from the initial position (still you can do pivot).
  • queue pass drill. Every player make a queue. Do the pass between the instructor and the player in the queue, after the player make the pass, he/she move back to the last queue, and the next queue continue the pass again
4. (overhead) Passing/ Setter drill
  • 1 v1 or 2 v 2 drill, play it in net
  • 1 person wall-pass drill. Make a target on wall or some wall-like. hit the target continuiously
  • 3 v 3 game. Use the front court only
5. Receive drill
  • Spiker v Receiver. Everyone make a queue to receive the spike. the receiver has to get the incoming ball no matter what
  • 1 v 6 set pieces play
  • 1 v 3 set pieces play
6. Spike and block drill
  • Setter-Spiker set pieces. Spiker give the ball to the setter, then the setter set the ball back to be spiked
  • Setter-Spiker-Blocker set pieces. Same as before but with some blockers try to block the spike
  • block drill. try it on the wall. You can’t touch the wall.
  • jump drill. increase your vertical jump
Some examples : jumping, quickness, and power
7. Mixed overhead-forearm pass, spike, and receive combination play 
  • 1 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v 3, etc
  • circle training. Every player make a circle to play the combination
  • circle training with one setter in the middle.  Every player has to give the ball to the setter in the middle of circle, then the setter pass the ball to the next player. The setter can be switched after some time
8. Serve drill
  • Repetitive serve
  • Placing serve
9. Strategy drill
  • 3 v 6 game play
  • 6 v 6 game play
  • 3 person set pieces play (be creative!!)
  • Attack-Defense formation training

  1. Hmmm saya suka nonton voli, tapi ga bisa maennya.😛

    Salut saya bagi yang bisa main voli. Saya pikir itu sulit dan melelahkan, butuh lompat-lompat, dan tentunya tangan sakit.

  2. Sebenernya lebih capek main futsal ya gak sih? main voli tuh sebenarnya statis relatif sedikit gerak. kecuali kalo kita mainnya kaya atlet, lompat spike atau blok. Sama aja kan kalo kita asal main futsal gak capek-capek amat. yang penting have fun

    ane mainnya cupu kok, asal bisa pukul bola :p
